King Stropharia doesn't grow on logs, however many people use inoculated dowels as spawn for straw and/or woodchips. Dowels aren't attractive to rodents or other critters, unlike grain spawn, which is highly desired by birds, insects, mammals, snails and slugs.
King Stropharia is also know as the garden giant. It is grown in many parts of the world, and is considered by many to be a choice edible. It also has a reputation as a great companion for plants, with it's ability to break down dead plant matter, and release nutrients back to growing plants.
Please note: Forest Fungi make dowels fresh to order to increase vigour. It takes around 1 - 4 weeks to inoculate dowels.
