The Pioppino mushroom is one of our absolute favourites. Also known as the Black Poplar mushroom, and Chestnut mushroom.
The Pioppino mushroom is a popular in Italy. It has a delicate nutty flavor and fantastic firm texture. It is good for vegetarian dishes, stir frys, pasta and pizzas. The firm texture makes it a terrific all-purpose mushroom. If you only want to grow one mushroom, this is a very good choice.
We predominately grow the Pioppino mushroom through bag cultivation in the part sun for additional nutrients.
Please note: Forest Fungi make agar fresh to order. It takes around 1 - 3 weeks to inoculate and will be shipped as soon as possible.
